| Overview: |
| PROCURO is a RFID-based Supply Chain Management solution. It is an enterprise level application exploring the EPCglobal architecture to implement required contents. It adds the power of an Inventory Management System to the supply chain and acts as an interface between the end user and CONTINEO, the unique real-time event processing middleware for enterprise applications. After getting alert events from CONTINEO, Procuro redirects them to the respective client application and enables the user to initiate required action depending on these alerts. Using web services and other technology components, Procuro facilitates communication between two remote databases, irrespective of their geographical locations. Using Procuro, a buyer can place purchase orders on multiple suppliers using the subscribing mechanism. As of now, Procuro consists of two parts: Inventory Management Service (IMS) and Electronic Product Code Information Service (EPCIS). IMS deals with the RFID-based Inventory Management System and EPCIS deals with Supply Chain Management and actual movement of items for a product. |
